GSE | Ground Support Equipment

Static & Fatigue Test Rigs, Test Stands & Load Heads

M&F designs and manufactures static and fatigue test rigs for structural qualification and validation programs. Our experience includes high-load test stands, multi-axis load introduction systems, and custom load heads engineered for heavy duty load transfer, stiffness and durability. These systems are built to integrate smoothly with instrumentation, hydraulics, and control architectures.

Dummy Assemblies for Structural Testing

We manufacture high-fidelity dummy and mass-simulator assemblies used in structural, dynamic, and qualification testing. Examples include engine mass models, wing structures and landing gear simulators designed to replicate stiffness, mass distribution, and interface geometry. These assemblies enable realistic load paths without risking flight hardware.

Impact, Damage & Crash Test Equipment

M&F builds robust equipment for impact, damage tolerance, and crash test applications. Our structures are engineered to manage extreme transient loads while maintaining repeatability, alignment, and operator safety. Typical systems include drop towers, sled interfaces, containment structures, and sacrificial tooling.

Platforms, Stands, Pedestals & Robot Support Structures

We design and fabricate heavy-duty platforms, pedestals, and structural supports for manufacturing, automation, and test environments. These structures prioritize stiffness, and stability, often serving as precision bases for robots, machines, or test articles.

Workholding & Machining Fixtures

M&F produces precision workholding solutions ranging from rigid mechanical fixtures to vacuum-based systems. Our fixtures are designed to control distortion, maintain repeatability, and support tight GD&T requirements across large or thin-walled components. All fixtures are manufactured in-house to ensure fit and accuracy.

Static & Dynamic Loading and Pressure Test Tooling

We manufacture tooling for static, cyclic, and pressure-based testing of aerospace structures and systems. Designs routinely incorporate hydraulic, electrical and mechanical actuation, as well as sensors and measurement systems.

Custom Hydraulic Presses & Hydroform Tooling

M&F regularly builds custom hydraulic presses and hydroforming tools for forming, straightening, and structural shaping applications.

Certification & Flight Test Tooling

We manufacture tooling used during certification and flight test campaigns, where reliability and dimensional accuracy are critical. This includes installation tooling, alignment fixtures and load application hardware.

Hard Metals & Superalloys

M&F machines hard metals and high-temperature alloys commonly used in aerospace and spaceflight applications. Common applications include 4140/4340, 15-5/17-4 and Inco718/A286.

Refurbishment of Large Mechanical Structures & Tooling

We provide refurbishment and repair services for large mechanical structures and tooling. This includes structural repairs, machining rework, upgrades, proof testing, and re-qualification to restore performance and extend service life.

Wind Tunnel Tooling

Large Welding Tooling, Including Friction Stir Equipment

M&F has experience building welding fixtures and tooling for large structural assemblies, including friction stir welding (FSW) applications.

High-Precision Machined Components LARGE

We CNC machine high-precision components requiring tight tolerances, complex geometry, and excellent surface finishes. We specialize in turning and milling of medium-to-large structures ranging in length typically from ~1ft-20ft.

M&F takes great pride building structural systems used in spacecraft launch operations, including launch platforms, support frames, transport structures, HD and QD systems. These assemblies are engineered for extreme loads, tight tolerance interfaces, and harsh operating environments.
